HOW IT WORKS

A clear workflow for IT teams.

Everything you need to get HTTPS running—and keep it running—with less manual work.

01

Pick your setup

Choose your operating system, web server, and domain. We generate the relevant Certbot instructions.

02

Install your certificate

Run the commands on your server. Certbot handles domain validation and supported web server configuration.

03

Monitor with confidence

Add the domain to your portal. See its live certificate details and monitor renewal health over time.

INTERACTIVE INSTALLER

HTTPS starts right here.

Tell us about your server, and we'll prepare the commands. Free, open-source Certbot does the heavy lifting.

Guided setup01 / 02

Your server environment

Select your setup to customize the installation steps.

Enter a valid hostname to enable copying the certificate issuance command.

Commands run on your own server. We never need your credentials or private keys.
YOUR CUSTOM GUIDE

Installation steps

Ubuntu / nginx
1

Connect to your server

SSH into the Linux server hosting this domain with an account that has sudo privileges.

ssh user@your-server
2

Install Certbot

Install snapd if needed, then install the supported Certbot snap. Avoid keeping two conflicting Certbot installations.

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y snapd
sudo snap install --classic certbot
sudo ln -sf /snap/bin/certbot /usr/local/bin/certbot
3

Issue and install HTTPS

Ensure DNS points to this server and inbound TCP port 80 is reachable. Certbot will verify domain control and configure HTTPS.

sudo certbot --nginx -d YOUR_DOMAIN_HERE
4

Verify automatic renewal

Test renewal without issuing a production certificate. Check that your installation has a working systemd timer or cron job.

sudo certbot renew --dry-run
systemctl list-timers | grep -i certbot

These commands cover common Linux setups; DNS, firewall rules, and package support vary. Check the official Certbot documentation
